Slate PC is a compact version of the Tablet PC with a screen diagonal of 7-12 inches. It is an IBM PC-compatible computer and uses a desktop operating system. There are some differences in the interface, because it is designed to control your fingers using the touch screen and the use of multi-touch gestures. For text input, only the virtual keyboard is used, although theoretically using the bluetooth interface, you can connect an external physical keyboard to the device.
The concept was developed by Microsoft in cooperation with major notebook manufacturers, in particular with Hewlett-Packard.
