Microsoft Anti-Virus for Windows is an antivirus software provided by Microsoft for its own operating system MS-DOS. The program first appeared in the version of MS-DOS 6.0 (1993), the latest version was accompanied by MS-DOS 6.22. In the first version of the anti-virus program there was no built-in update mechanism (updates had to be obtained on BBS and manually installed by the user), it was able to recognize 1234 different viruses. The general package also supplied Microsoft Anti-Virus for Windows (MWAV), which was a user interface that allowed MSAV to work correctly under Windows 3.1.
