Internet Explorer Mobile (previously Pocket Internet Explorer, commonly abbreviated to IE Mobile) is a mobile web browser developed by Microsoft, based on versions of the Trident layout engine. IE Mobile comes loaded by default with Windows Phone and Windows CE. Current versions of IE Mobile (since Windows Phone 8) are based on the desktop version of Internet Explorer. Older versions, known as Pocket Internet Explorer (found on Windows Mobile and Windows Phone 7), are not based on the same layout engine.

The current IE Mobile version, Internet Explorer Mobile 11, is based on the desktop version of Internet Explorer 11 and comes with Windows Phone 8.1. A new browser, Microsoft Edge is planned to replace IE Mobile in Windows 10 Mobile.
