CleanThis

CleanThis is a bogus virus scanner featuring an official-looking Windows logo as part of a fake "Microsoft Security Essentials". This malware is a clone of ThinkPoint with the same type of alerts, while causing a lot of damage to a computer. This Microsoft-like software may create more than just Task Manager and browser infections. It may also hide files that are infected.

Removal of this malware will require repair of the Windows Registry through the use of another computer, or manually through the Windows Advanced Options menu in Windows XP, or the Advanced Boot Options screen in Windows Vista or later.
