DOSbox is an open source MS-DOS emulator for many systems, including Windows, Linux, MacOS, and many others.

It is primarily designed for gaming, and can simulate an MS-DOS environment running on an Intel 80486 processor, and it can be configured to run at the speed appropriate for most older DOS applications to ensure maximum compatibility with DOS software.

It is free to download and distribute, and can be modified freely. It has been recommended by many software distributors for running older DOS based games they have released and it often distributed by many older software resellers, such as Good Old Games, for running older games they retail and resell.
